BRITTANY – 30 – Long Beach, CA

Brittany’s story is nothing short of amazing as you can see. Her will power and commitment to change is one a lot of us would envy. I am so proud to have her in our community. Read all about her!

How many times have you done Whole 30? When was your first round?

I have been following Whole30 for 360 days. My first round was April 9, 2017.

How did you hear about Whole 30 and what made you decide to it?

My best friend did it and loved it! I hated the way I looked and felt everyday so I needed a change.

What scale and non-scale victories have you had as a result of Whole 30?

I dropped almost 50lbs in the first 2.5 months. NSV – was when I could sit in an airplane seat without an extender. Also, my clothes no longer fit me and I realized that when I would walk for a long time I didn’t feel winded or out of breath.

What helped you to succeed the most on Whole 30?

Just making the decision and sticking to it. I had backup and cheerleaders who constantly talked me up! But I really did it for me.

What’s your favorite Whole 30 recipe or go-to meal?

I love spaghetti squash and homemade compliant pesto!

How has your life changed since Whole 30?

I am a completely different person not only on the outside but I feel more confident to be who I am on the inside. I always had so much attention on my body and people looking at me, etc. I hated it. Now I am like, look at me, and not a whole lot of people know my story! It’s so much fun to have accomplished what I have and to continue going!

In addition to Whole 30, did you make any other healthy lifestyle changes (such as incorporating fitness, smoking cessation, etc) at the same time?

I have been walking a whole lot more and am definitely more active!

What message/inspiration do you have for those just starting the program?

You can absolutely do it if YOU really want too. I have had people tell me that I needed to take care of my body for years. I’ve always been a bigger person and it never clicked, I just thought they were jerks. I was clearly unhappy and didn’t want to change. When I made that decision there was NOTHING that could change my mind. I still get offered cookies but I refuse to go back to where I was before! So, you can absolutely do it!
